flood risk & severe weather 16/01/10

After a cold start to 2010 we now have our first flood warning alert
Heavy rain is due to drive into the UK on saturday. Over 25mm is possible in places. 48mm possible in the Southwest quadrant.
Some parts of the UK like mid wales have 30cm of snow, this thawing alone would not be any risk but with added heavy rainfall we could see a problem.
The ground has been frozen for some time now and could cause run off to be exasperated.
